Chess Tutoring

Wanted to pass along a opportunity for chess tutoring for your child.

Many of you already know Joe's son (and Julia's brother), Tom. For those of you that don't, Tom is a student at Washington University and finds himself with some extra time for the upcoming semester. He is a skilled chess player and coach in his own right, a Kennard alum, and a founding member of the Chess Tigers. It was also Tom that started the Red Rook chess tournament with which we just finished before winter break.

Because of Tom's love for chess he wants to use his extra time this semester to take on some additional students and offer chess tutoring to those that are interested.

I am going to cut and paste part of Tom's email:

Thanks again for helping me to get the word out about my new availability; I hope this'll make it to any interested parents/chess enthusiasts, including those who might not have had the opportunity to participate in the Kennard club or Red Rook due to scheduling or club enrollment issues. As for the details you mentioned:

For the upcoming semester, I'm available on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30pm onwards, Friday any time in the afternoon/evening, and any time in the weekend before 3:00pm on Sundays. The lessons I plan usually last between 75 and 90 minutes; my usual lesson fee is $25 a lesson, which includes travel and materials. I'm typically happy to meet at a half-way point (library, bookstore, coffee shop, etc.), or at the student's home if this is preferable.
I'm really looking forwards to being able to teach more once again and picking up some new students. Again, sincere thanks for your help,

-tom

Please email the email on the side of the page and I will send you Tom's info so you can contact him about the lessons. I did not want to put his info out on the web. Hopefully some of you can take advantage. Thanks.
